A one-of-a-kind stay designed for togetherness and comfort, The Bunkies are five tiny home-style cabins nestled side by side in the heart of Heritage Harbor. Perfect for reunions, retreats, or multi-family vacations, this cozy collection sleeps up to 14 guests when booked together—offering the best of both privacy and community.

Whether you're roasting marshmallows around the shared firepit or enjoying a peaceful morning coffee on your porch, The Bunkies invite you to slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories along the Illinois River.

Cabin Features:
Each of the five Bunkies is thoughtfully appointed with comfort and functionality in mind. Three are studio-style cabins with king beds, kitchenettes, and full bathrooms—perfect for couples or solo travelers.
Two additional cabins offer flexible sleeping arrangements: One side includes a queen bed, kitchenette, and full bathroom. The other side, accessed via a private entrance, is a bunk room with twin bunk beds and its own full bathroom—great for kids or friends sharing a space.
Collectively, the five cabins provide 7 sleeping areas and 7 full bathrooms, along with plenty of space to gather and unwind.

Shared Outdoor Space:
Gather around the communal firepit to share stories, laughter, and s'mores under the stars. Located just steps from your front door, it’s a warm and welcoming spot to enjoy the harbor’s slower pace and scenic surroundings.

Parking:
Seven designated parking spots are included with your stay—so everyone has room to park, unpack, and relax.

House Rules:
To keep things relaxing and enjoyable for everyone:

Quiet Hours: 10 p.m. – 7 a.m.
No smoking or pets (including but not limited to cats, zebras, or spouses—yes, we’ve had to clarify!)
No parties or tents on property
A $300 fine will be charged for violation of smoking or pet policies.

A Nod to History:
The Bunkies sit in Navvy Town, named for the canal workers ("navigators") who built the Illinois & Michigan Canal. This historic waterway connected the Great Lakes to the Mississippi River, forever transforming travel, trade, and life in the Midwest. Just like those early travelers, you’ll discover that great things happen where the water flows.
