How do I book a home?

You can either make a booking directly on this website by using the “check availability box” to the left. Or you can call our office at 815-433-5000 option 2 and a reservationist will be glad to help you.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you make a reservation. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database. It will only be accessible by those authorized with special rights to such systems. They are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Our vacation homes are stocked in such a way that you always feel like you are coming “home” to your “vacation home” rather than returning to a small hotel room. Our homes have full kitchens, with some homes having games and BBQ grills. You will be able to enjoy a full-service home while you are on vacation rather than a small, cramped hotel room.

SELECT cottages are dog-friendly. There is a $125 charge to have a pet on-premises. If you have not gotten permission from Harbor Inn and paid the $125 fee then you do not have permission to bring any pet on-premises.

Some of our homeowners, their family, and guests of the Harbor Inn are allergic to pets and pet hair, therefore in our terms and conditions, we do include a penalty for guests who do not follow the pet policy of each individual home.

We do have a dog park at the west entrance of the resort, called River Run Dog Park.

Yes! While Harbor Inn specializes in vacation rentals for shorter stays, we can also help guide you if you’re looking to stay for a month or longer. Heritage Harbor offers select properties for extended stays and long-term leasing. Long-term stays offer the same scenic waterfront lifestyle with added convenience and flexibility. Reach out to our team at 815-433-5000 (option 2) to learn more or be referred to the leasing office.

Yes! We offer both Early Check-In and Late Check-Out options so you can enjoy more time at Harbor Inn. Whether you want to arrive sooner or take your time heading home, these add-ons help make your stay more flexible and relaxing.

 

What are the Early Check-In options?

Standard check-in begins at 3:00 PM.

 

Available Early Check-In options:

  • 2:00 PM Check-In — $25
  • 1:00 PM Check-In — $40
  • 12:00 PM Check-In — $60

 

What are the Late Check-Out options?

Standard check-out is at 11:00 AM.

 

Available Late Check-Out options:

  • 12:00 PM Check-Out — $25
  • 1:00 PM Check-Out — $40

Both options are available by request only and must be arranged in advance. After booking, guests can conveniently submit their request through the Harbor Inn Guest Portal. Approval is based on cleaning schedules, incoming reservations, and overall availability.

No. Requests are not guaranteed until confirmed by our team. Availability may vary depending on booking schedules and housekeeping timing.

We recommend requesting Early Check-In or Late Check-Out as early as possible before your stay to improve availability.

A 50% deposit of the total booking cost is required to reserve your vacation rental. The remaining balance is due in full 14 days prior to check-in.

Our pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, weather permitting. Pool hours and availability may vary due to maintenance, weather conditions, or special events.

Use of resort amenities, including pools, is at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty, and children must be supervised at all times.

 

Pool access is reserved exclusively for Harbor Inn guests who are registered and staying in a vacation rental home. Outside guests are not permitted to use the pool facilities at any time. Additionally, only guests staying in properties located within the Heritage Harbor Resort are eligible for pool access. All posted pool rules must be followed at all times. Failure to comply may result in loss of access and additional charges.

Please adhere to the maximum occupancy listed for your home. Additional guests or visitors must be approved in advance and may result in additional charges. Parties, large gatherings, or events are not permitted unless approved ahead of time.

All homes are non-smoking. Evidence of smoking inside will result in a $500 cleaning fee and may require immediate departure.
